SEVERAL YOUNG actors are given plum roles in the Cinema One entries that start showing today in Trinoma, Glorietta and Robinson Galleria: Felix Roco in “Shift”, Rayver Cruz in “Saturday Night Chills” and Alex Vincent Medina in “Angustia”.

Felix is playing a gay role for the first time in Director Siege Ledesma’s “Shift” and he admits he initially felt reluctant about it. “Ayoko kasi nung may kissing scene sa kapwa lalaki,” he says. “But then, they told me walang ganun so I accepted it. This is my second movie for Cinema One. Yung una was ‘UPCAT’ na entry noong 2008. Ngayon lang naulit.”

Felix is a senior call center agent supervisor in “Shift”. He’s paired with Yeng Constantino in her first movie role, a tomboyish call center girl who falls in love with him even if she’s aware that he’s gay.

Felix candidly admits that he’s envious of his twin brother Dominic Roco who’s with GMA-7. “Naiinggit ako but I’m happy for him. He’s seen daily sa afternoon soap na ‘Magkano Ba ang Pag-ibig’ and Saturday nights sa historical drama na ‘Katipunan’. Ako, walang ginagawa sa TV ngayon. But I finished another movie, ‘Sabine’ with Bangs Garcia, directed by Ian del Carmen, and a short film with Direk Freddie Santos na ipalalabas sa abroad.”
