Drew Arellano And Pregnant Wifey Iya Villania Work For The First Time Together In 'Home Foodie Season 2'

DREW ARELLANO used to be hosting “Home Foodie” by his lonesome self. Now, in “Home Foodie Season 2”, his infanticipating wife, Iya Villania, joins him as co-host. Why so? “Because I also want to be a certified Home Foodie!” says Iya, who’s on her 7th month of pregnancy.
“This is the start of my wife’s own culinary journey,” says Drew. “Remember I told you in Season 1 the only thing she knows how to cook is eggs. Now, she’s exploring and is being more mature in her adventures in the kitchen.”

“In the show, I actually represent the newcomer in the kitchen,” adds Iya. “Magiging mommy na ako, so I really want to learn how to cook different dishes. And I’m so glad akong napili nilang co-host ni Drew as it’s the first time Drew and I get to work together in one show. We really welcome it and I think the viewers will be able to relate to our hugot lines while we interact with each other while cooking.”

“Ang sarap pala to work with your wife,” says Drew. “Parang it’s not work at all. Bonus talaga when we’re together kasi madali siyang katrabaho and all the three other chefs who join us na sina San Miguel Foods Culinary Center chef Llena Tan Arcenas, Rene Ruz and RJ Garcia.”

So what’s the gender of their baby? “It’s a boy. When I learned it’ll be a boy, I became quite emotional,” Drew confesses. “Kasi my dad, (the well known Atty. Antonio “Aga” Arellano), passed three years ago, at siya ang unang pumasok sa isip ko. My dad is my best friend and also my roommate. That’s how close we are. So my reaction is: I hope I can be the same kind of father to my son like my dad was to me. I’m really very excited and can’t just wait for him to come out.”

So what’s the difference of “Home Foodie Season 2” from the first season? “Before, we featured just 13 dishes. Now, mas marami, 19 dishes,” says Drew. “We’ll inspire home cooks to reinvent traditional favorites using San Miguel food products. All Season 2 recipes are Kayang-Kayang Sarap, meaning, they’re definitely easy to do even by kitchen newbies like Iya. And we have an internet component where you can watch the longer versions of our show, complete with our kulitans. Season 2 starts this Monday, June 13, 7:30 AM, right after ‘Unang Hirit’ and can be seen all weekdays until Friday.”
